Embracing AI: Charting a path as a newbie Automation pioneer
For the sixth time in my career, I've pivoted and learnt a new set of skills - this time in the realm of business process automation using AI. After 17 weeks of intensive learning no-code automation solutions on Make.com using like OpenAI, Perplexity, Anthropic among many others, I've launched my own company, ABSAI (Automated Business Solutions AI) to offer solutions to the growing demand. It's been a challenging journey for this "older dog" to master new tricks, but the future potential of automation for businesses of all sizes is undoubtedly bright. As some non AI generated output recently quipped, "AI is the new electricity" - a transformative force that will soon become as ubiquitous and essential as electricity itself.
The State of AI and Automation Adoption
While AI's potential is vast, its adoption across businesses remains relatively nascent. According to a recent Salesforce survey , only 56% of small businesses are currently using AI. However, the tide is turning, with 94% of small business leaders believing AI will be critical to their success in the next five years.
Automating for Efficiency
AI-powered automation presents a myriad of opportunities for businesses to streamline operations, boost productivity, and drive growth. From automating routine tasks like data entry and reporting to implementing conversational AI assistants for customer support, lead generation , hiring, enquiry handling, social media content creation, scheduling and distribution at scale, the possibilities are endless.
The Rise of Automation Startups
As the demand for AI and automation solutions continues, startups and solopreneurs like ABSAI are positioning to capitalise on this opportunity. With a nimble approach, competitive pricing, and a personal touch, smaller automation companies can provide tailored solutions that larger enterprises may struggle to match, at least within the same time frame. The limited supply of skilled automation experts further amplifies the potential for startups in this space. According to a Federation of Small Businesses study , 55% of small firms in the UK recognise the potential benefits of AI.
A Bright Future Ahead
As I embark on a new chapter one of a new book, I'm feel excitement, anticipation and a touch of trepidation for the automation solutions and challenges that lie ahead. I'm going to share this journey, with the help of many automations of course and invite you to follow along here as I navigate this ever-evolving landscape. Also follow on my X (si@absai_ai), or Tiktok (si@absai), posts will be sparse to start but will gather speed across the summer. I have a passion for innovation and a commitment to helping businesses thrive, so I'm looking forward to see how ABSAI will grow in shaping the future of automation.
